Vaxiion Therapeutics was founded by Dr. Roger Sabbadini and Neil Berkley at San Diego State University in 2000 and is 1 of 4 biotechnology companies to emerge from San Diego State's College of Sciences. Professor Sabbadini has extensive experience as a bio-entrepreneur having started both Lpath Therapeutics(http://www.lpath.com/) and more recently Mpex Pharmaceuticals (http://www.mpexpharma.com/).  Vaxiion also benefits from a solid scientific team led by Dr. Stanley Maloy, our Chief Scientific Officer, and Dr. Kathleen McGuire, our Director of Research.  Dr. Maloy is one of the preeminent researchers in the field of microbiology and infectious diseases while Dr. McGuire is a prominent immunologist. This combination provides some solid insight to Vaxiion's current early-stage vaccine development program, setting the stage for success.
